Community event planned for 31 October at Bradford New Church

A Halloween-themed family event aimed at children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is set to take place in Bradford later this year. The Gigs For Kids Halloween SEND Family Party will be held on Friday, 31 October 2025, from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Bradford New Church, located on Ashfield Avenue in Shipley.

Event details and activities

The event forms part of the SENDiVERSE Festival and is open to all families, with children required to be accompanied by an adult. Entry is free, although donations are welcomed. Attendees are encouraged to book in advance, but this is not compulsory.

During the party, three artists from the Bradford Music Scene will perform live sets, each lasting approximately 15 minutes. In between performances, there will be craft activities and a Halloween disco designed to provide a “Happy Halloween” experience rather than a scary one. Dressing up in costumes is encouraged but not mandatory.

Accessibility considerations

The organisers have noted that the event will feature flashing disco ball lights and some noise from the music. Families with children who are sensitive to noise are advised to bring ear defenders to ensure comfort throughout the event.
