More than £17,500 has been raised for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation following the Bantams v MND Dinner held at the University of Bradford Stadium.

The event brought together a host of Stephen Darby’s former teammates and managers, alongside current City boss Graham Alexander and assistant Chris Lucketti, for an evening of stories, laughter and reflection in support of a cause close to the hearts of many in the Bradford City community.

Organised in collaboration with the See It Now Group, the night featured appearances from Phil Parkinson, Nathan Clarke, Gary Jones and others, who shared their memories of Darby’s time in the dressing room and the lasting impact he made on and off the pitch.

Hosted by James Mason, the event also included a live auction, contributing to the impressive £17,514 total raised to support those affected by motor neurone disease (MND).

Paula Watson, Bradford City’s Director of Operations, described the evening as both moving and meaningful:

“The Bantams v MND Dinner was a special evening in which we honoured the career of Stephen, someone who epitomises our club, supporting him in his battle against MND. The hard work in finding a cure for this horrible disease never stops, and we are already looking forward to March of the Day Three, another three-day continuous walk for Stephen and all of those who keep fighting.”

James Beattie, owner of the See It Now Group, added:

“It was a privilege to be able to bring so many past players and managers together with the supporters and raise such a great amount of money to honour Stephen and his charity.”

The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, co-founded by former City defender Stephen Darby and British Armed Forces veteran Chris Rimmer, continues to fund research, provide support for those living with the disease, and raise awareness of MND across the UK.
