Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC have announced that defender Josh Ashman and forward Myles La Bastide have completed loan moves to Mickleover and Silsden AFC. Both agreements include standard recall clauses, allowing the club to bring the players back if required during the season.
Josh Ashman joins Mickleover on loan
Josh Ashman, a defender who joined Bradford (Park Avenue) in September 2024, has moved on loan to Mickleover. Ashman previously played for Guiseley and Matlock Town before signing for Avenue. He is a former Sheffield Wednesday academy player and captained their under-21 side.
During his time at Bradford (Park Avenue), Ashman has been noted for his composure and physical presence in defence. Last season, he made 35 appearances and scored three goals, forming a strong defensive partnership with Mark Beevers. In the current campaign, he featured in 11 matches, including eight starts and three substitute appearances.
Myles La Bastide joins Silsden AFC on loan
Forward Myles La Bastide has joined Silsden AFC on loan. La Bastide is a product of Bradford (Park Avenue)’s Football Education Programme and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2023. He has gained senior experience through previous loan spells at Frickley and Pontefract.
In his debut season, La Bastide made 18 appearances and scored four goals. Last season, he added six goals in 23 outings. So far in the 2025/26 season, he has made two starts and seven substitute appearances, scoring once.
Manager’s comments on the loan moves
Bradford (Park Avenue) manager Craig Elliott commented on the loans, emphasising that both players remain part of his plans for the season. He explained that the loan moves are intended to provide Ashman and La Bastide with match fitness and confidence through regular game time, which will benefit the club when they return.
He said: “Both Josh and Myles are still very much part of my plans for this season. However, both players need a few games to keep them match-fit and confident for when we need them back in the team. These loans will help everyone in the short term, support both players, and I hope they have successful spells.”
Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC have wished Ashman and La Bastide well during their loan periods.
