Local poet Lydia Macpherson to present new pamphlet inspired by Haworth

The Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth will host the launch of a new poetry pamphlet titled The Heights by local poet Lydia Macpherson. The event is scheduled for 7pm on 23 April 2026 and will last for one hour.

About the poet and her work

Lydia Macpherson currently lives in the last inhabited house before Top Withens, a location closely associated with the Brontë sisters and widely believed to have inspired the setting for Wuthering Heights. Her family has historical ties to the area; her five times great-grandfather, Jonas Sunderland, farmed Top Withens during the Brontës’ lifetime.

The Heights is published by Calder Valley Poetry. This is not Macpherson’s first collection; her debut book, Love Me Do, was published by Salt in 2014 and won the Crashaw Prize.
