Renowned organist Richard Hills to play Wurlitzer theatre organ at Victoria Hall

On 8 March 2026, music enthusiasts in Saltaire and the surrounding areas will have the opportunity to attend a concert featuring internationally acclaimed organist Richard Hills. The event will take place at Victoria Hall from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, showcasing a performance on the Wurlitzer theatre organ.

About Richard Hills

Richard Hills is recognised for his unique ability to bridge the classical and theatre organ worlds. His musical background includes organ scholarships at Exeter College, Oxford, Portsmouth Cathedral, and Westminster Abbey. He currently holds the position of Organist at St Mary’s, Bourne Street, London, while maintaining a freelance solo career and teaching commitments.

Hills has received numerous awards in both the UK and the USA, including being named ‘Organist of the Year’ in 2010 in the United States. He has appeared as a soloist on various national and international television and radio programmes and made his solo debut at the BBC Proms in 2013. His recent recordings include a disc of British music recorded on the Compton organ at Southampton’s Guildhall, which received a five-star review in Choir and Organ magazine.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and serves as Musical Adviser to the UK’s Cinema Organ Society.
