Keighley Town Council is organising an Eid Light Switch-On and Community Iftar event on 24 February 2026. The event will take place at Town Hall Square, Keighley, starting at 4:30pm. It aims to bring together people from the local community to mark the occasion of Eid with a range of activities and refreshments.
Event details and activities
The evening will feature a light switch-on ceremony showcasing decorations designed by local children from mosques and schools. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy free henna and crafts during the event.
Complimentary dates, food, and water will be provided to those attending the community iftar, which is the meal eaten to break the fast during Ramadan.
Special guest appearance
Actor Danyal Ismail, who was born in Bradford and is known for his role in the BBC series Virdee, will be a special guest at the event.
