New joint leadership aims to enhance support across the district

Bradford South Scouts have announced the appointment of a new District Lead Volunteer (DLV) team, with Angela Theabould and Michael Holroyd sharing the role. This change marks a move to a team-based leadership structure intended to strengthen support for volunteers and young people throughout the district.

Team-based leadership structure

Angela Theabould is a familiar figure within Bradford South Scouts, recognised for her long-standing commitment and leadership. Michael Holroyd joins her in the shared role, having already contributed significantly to supporting volunteers and young people in recent months.

The new structure will see Angela and Michael working side by side, each taking responsibility for different areas while collaborating closely. Their joint efforts focus on:

  • Ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the district
  • Providing responsive and practical support for volunteers
  • Delivering safe, fun, and adventurous opportunities for young people
  • Building a positive and thriving district culture

This approach aims to better meet the needs of the growing Scouting community in Bradford South and to distribute responsibilities more evenly, ensuring that no individual carries the workload alone.

Contact and community engagement

Members of the community and volunteers can contact the DLV team via email at dlv.team@bfdsthscouts.org.uk for support, questions, or to make contact.

The appointment of the new team is seen as a significant step in continuing to provide engaging and adventurous Scouting experiences across Bradford South.
