Bradford Cathedral Hosts Chorister Experience Day for Young Singers

February 11, 2026 Off By

Opportunity for children to explore life as a Cathedral chorister

Bradford Cathedral is organising an event on Saturday 7 March 2026, inviting young singers to take part in a “Be a Chorister for a Day” experience. The event will run from 10am until 12:30pm and aims to give children and their families an insight into the daily activities of the Cathedral choir.

Event schedule and activities

The day will begin with a guided tour of Bradford Cathedral, noted as the oldest building in the city. Attendees will also have the chance to see a demonstration of the Cathedral’s organ. Following this, participants will meet the current choristers and watch a rehearsal session.

After observing the rehearsal, the group will learn and perform some music together, providing a practical experience of singing in a choir environment.

Chorister opportunities and inclusivity

Bradford Cathedral offers chorister places to boys and girls regardless of family background, education, financial situation, or religious affiliation. The choir provides a musical education led by professional musicians, and no prior singing experience is required to join.

Choristers have the opportunity to participate in concerts, including performances for television and radio, as well as trips and tours.
