Opportunity to Explore Drawing Techniques at South Square

A still life drawing workshop is set to take place at South Square in Bradford on 16 April 2026. The two-hour session will run from 6pm to 8pm and is open to adults aged 18 and over.

Workshop Details

The event will be led by artist Zoe Maxwell, who will guide participants through various techniques and approaches to sketching from observation. The workshop aims to provide time for both beginners and experienced artists to practice and develop their drawing skills.

Participants will be invited to draw a collection of objects that carry their own histories, which may be passed down, found, or collected. Attendees are encouraged to bring objects that resonate with the theme to add to the composition.

Structure and Materials

  • The workshop will begin with short, experimental sketches using a range of materials.
  • It will progress to longer sketches that build on the techniques developed during the session.
  • All materials, including easels and paper, will be provided.
  • Participants are welcome to bring and use their own drawing materials if preferred.

Venue and Accessibility

The workshop will be held in the community room on the first floor of South Square, located on Thornton Road, Bradford, BD13 3LD. Step-free access is available; participants requiring this are advised to notify the organisers in advance.

Booking Information

Tickets for the workshop are priced at £15 per person. Those interested in attending can book tickets in advance.
