Bradford City Hosts Community Iftar Event

Bradford City Football Club, along with its charitable arm, the Bradford City FC Community Foundation, organised an Iftar event to mark Ramadan and engage with the local community. The event took place at the University of Bradford Stadium and attracted attendees from various parts of the city, including local stakeholders, partner organisations, supporters of the club, and members of the public.
Event Details and Participants
The event, named Together Iftar, aimed to foster community cohesion and promote inclusivity. A panel of speakers took part in discussions about the significance of such gatherings, the role football clubs and their foundations can play in promoting inclusion, and how sport can help break down barriers within communities.

In addition to the panel discussions, Sheikh Muhammed Taaha Al-Junaid from Bahrain performed the call to prayer before the breaking of the fast.
Community Engagement and Inclusion
Liam Mould, Fan Engagement Officer at Bradford City AFC, commented on the event, noting the positive turnout and the opportunity it provided to bring together a diverse group of people, whether or not they were observing Ramadan. He emphasised the club’s commitment to being inclusive and community-focused.
Lizzie Saunderson-Trowell highlighted the Foundation’s dedication to community engagement through events like the Together Iftar. She expressed appreciation for the support from partners and attendees and reiterated the Foundation’s aim to use the club’s influence to benefit people across Bradford and the surrounding district.
