Bradford District Armed Forces Day Event Scheduled for June
June 4, 2026Community to honour service personnel with a range of activities
The Bradford District will host its annual Armed Forces Day event on Saturday, 27 June 2026, inviting residents to pay tribute to the men and women who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. The event will take place from 11:00 to 15:00 at Bridge Street and Norfolk Gardens in Bradford.
Event programme and activities
The day will commence with a traditional Drum Head Service, followed by an official opening speech from the Lord Mayor of Bradford. Attendees will have the opportunity to make a personal pledge of support to the Armed Forces community.
Family-friendly activities will be available throughout the event, including:
- Free climbing wall
- Face painting
- Creative crafts
- Street entertainment
Military vehicles and displays will be on show, providing visitors with insight into the equipment used by the armed forces. Cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force will be present to discuss their experiences and the opportunities available to young people interested in joining the services.
Live performances, including brass band music, will take place during the event, contributing to the commemorative atmosphere.

The event is free to attend and open to all ages. It aims to highlight the district’s heritage and the ongoing efforts to preserve the memory of those who have served. Exhibitors from across the Bradford district will be present, including representatives from the local Covenant Partnership.
