Fashion Show to Highlight Bradford’s Heritage and Sustainability

A fashion show celebrating Bradford’s rich cultural and textile heritage alongside sustainable fashion practices is set to take place this summer. The event, titled ‘Threads Together’, is a collaboration between Bradford City FC Community Foundation and the Yorkshire Women’s Forum, a local community organisation.
The ‘Threads Together’ fashion show will showcase clothing items that incorporate upcycled and ethically inspired designs. These pieces blend traditional influences with contemporary styles, aiming to raise awareness of the environmental and social impacts of fast fashion. The event will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about sustainable fashion and its significance for communities and the planet.

- Location: Valley Parade, Bradford
- Partners: Yorkshire Women’s Forum, Bradford City FC Community Foundation, Stachiw Bashir Solicitors, Another Way Women’s Foundation
- Purpose: To celebrate Bradford’s heritage and promote sustainability through fashion
- Charitable support: Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Yorkshire Women’s Forum’s ‘Period Poverty Project’, which provides essential products and support to women and girls in the community
Additional activities: Sustainability Summit
On the same day as the fashion show, a free sustainability summit will be held at the Foundation’s City Hub, located at 36 Valley Parade, Bradford, BD8 7DZ. Scheduled from 9.30am to 12.30pm, the summit invites community leaders, creatives, educators, and changemakers to discuss the impact of fashion on people and the environment.
The summit is organised in partnership with the same groups involved in the fashion show, including the Greener Bantams initiative. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP via the Foundation’s website.

- Yorkshire Women’s Forum: A community interest company supporting women through creative workshops and sustainability projects aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing.
- Stachiw Bashir Solicitors and Another Way Women’s Foundation: Partners supporting the event and its community objectives.
The collaboration seeks to bring together diverse community organisations to promote social cohesion and environmental responsibility through the medium of fashion, while also addressing local social issues such as period poverty.
