Bradford Forum to Discuss Organisational Response to AI
June 11, 2026Local business and public sector leaders to gather on AI impact
On 18 June, a one-day forum will be held in Bradford to examine how artificial intelligence (AI) is influencing leadership, governance, and the future of work across various sectors. The event aims to provide a platform for senior figures from industry, the public sector, and academia to discuss practical approaches to the growing role of AI in organisations.
Focus on practical challenges and sector impacts
The forum, titled Sustainable by Design: AI for a Better Tomorrow, will concentrate on the transition of AI from an emerging technology to a component of everyday organisational operations. Discussions will address the challenges businesses and public sector bodies face as AI becomes more integrated into their activities.
Craig Johnson, Associate Professor at the University of Bradford, highlighted the importance of proactive engagement with AI developments. He noted that AI is already reshaping organisational practices, emphasising the need for entities to actively shape its use rather than merely reacting to changes.
Shifts in workforce and leadership
The event will explore the effects of AI on different sectors, particularly focusing on knowledge-based and white-collar roles such as administration and analysis. This marks a shift from previous concerns centred mainly on automation of manual work.
Sessions will cover topics including:
- AI leadership strategies
- Governance frameworks for AI integration
- Workforce development and skills adaptation
The forum aims to connect technical understanding of AI with broader economic and societal implications, recognising the need for organisations to prepare for significant changes ahead.
Speakers and event details
Keynote speaker Phil Le Brun from Amazon Web Services, an alumnus of the University of Bradford, will be among the presenters. Other speakers will represent a range of industry and public sector perspectives.
The forum will take place from 9am to 4.30pm at the University of Bradford, Richmond Road, Bradford. Those interested in attending can find booking information on the university’s website.
