New Bradford Community Theatre Company Brings Affordable Panto To The City This July
June 12, 2026A new Bradford community theatre company is doing its first ever show this summer, and making sure that ticket prices are no barrier to getting through the door.
Wish Upon a Stage, founded by Bradford director and performer Kyra, presents Punch & Judy’s Holiday Misadventures on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July 2026 at Little Horton Social Cycling Club, Bradford BD5 8BS. Doors open at 6:30pm with the show starting at 7pm.
The show is an original two-act panto written by cast member Tom, featuring Mr Punch and Judy in a race to earn enough money for a summer holiday while their chaos-loving boss Mr Satan does everything he can to ruin it. The cast of seven Bradford performers includes a crocodile puppet, a string of sausages, foam, and two seagulls.
Tickets are priced at ÂŁ6 for adults and ÂŁ4 for children. Free and concession seats are held back for every performance; anyone who needs one simply has to ask, no questions asked.
Kyra, who has performed in and directed panto for several years, started Wish Upon a Stage after years of believing that great theatre shouldn’t be something only certain families can afford. She said:
“Panto helped me through some really difficult times & really improved my confidence. The community of it, the chaos, the joy. I genuinely believe everyone deserves to experience that, whether they’re on stage or in the audience. That’s what we’re building.”
This is the company’s first show. Tickets are available by emailing wishuponastage@gmail.com.
