Daily School Closure Report: Heat-Related Adjustments at Local Schools

Two primary schools in Bradford have implemented partial closures in response to extreme heat conditions affecting the area. These measures aim to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils amid challenging internal temperatures and an amber extreme heat warning.

Low Moor CofE Primary School

Low Moor CofE Primary School has announced a partial closure affecting pupils in Years 1 to 6. From Wednesday 24th June until Friday 26th June, these pupils will be dismissed following their lunch break each day. The school will remain open for Reception year pupils as usual.

For pupils who are not collected promptly, the school has arranged for them to stay on site until the end of the school day to ensure their safety.

Worthinghead Primary School

Worthinghead Primary School is offering an optional early collection for all pupils starting at 1:30pm from Wednesday 24th June and continuing for the following two days. This decision follows an amber extreme heat warning and concerns over internal building temperatures.

Despite the option for early collection, the school remains fully open for all pupils, with after-school clubs continuing to run until their usual finishing times for those who remain.
