Partial School Closures in Bradford Due to Extreme Heat

Several schools across Bradford are implementing partial closures and early collection options this week in response to an amber extreme heat warning. The measures aim to safeguard pupils and staff from the health risks posed by high temperatures and challenging internal building conditions.

Schools with Partial Closures or Early Collection Options

• Dixons Trinity Academy: Closed from 12:30pm on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June. The school will reopen as usual on Monday 29 June.
• Dixons Kings Academy: Partial closure from 1pm on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June. Reopening on Monday 29 June.
• Dixons McMillan Academy: Closed from 12:30pm on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June. Reopening on Monday 29 June.
• Clayton Village Primary School: Offering optional early collection from 1:30pm on 24 June and continuing on 25 and 26 June. Pupils not collected will remain in school until the end of the day. After-school club remains open as usual.
• Low Moor CofE Primary School: Pupils in Years 1 to 6 will be dismissed after lunch from 24 to 26 June. Reception children will remain in school. Pupils not collected will be cared for until the end of the day.
• Peel Park Primary School and Nursery: Optional early collection at 1:30pm on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June. Year 6 pupils will stay until 3:15pm on Thursday due to a scheduled workshop in cooler rooms. Children remaining will be cared for in cooler areas until normal finishing time.
• Worthinghead Primary School: Optional early collection from 1:30pm on 24 June and the following two days. The school remains open with after-school clubs operating as usual.

Additional Information

These partial closures and early collection options are temporary measures in place to address the extreme heat conditions expected over the coming days. Schools will resume their normal schedules from Monday 29 June unless otherwise notified.
