The club’s Your Chance initiative will offer separate development programmes for U16 and U19 footballers.

Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC says its fully funded Your Chance programme is intended to support young players seeking a route to further opportunities in football, education or employment. It is aimed at players whose progress has been affected by release from a professional academy, or who have not yet had the chance to demonstrate their ability in a professional environment.

The club describes the initiative as a development programme rather than a guarantee of a professional contract. Its stated aim is to provide structured coaching and support, helping players assess their strengths, identify areas for improvement and take responsibility for their development.

U16 programme

The U16 programme is designed for approximately 17 to 20 players, including those released by professional academies and others seeking to reach academy level. It is due to include coaching on Monday evenings, individual development plans and a programme of competitive games.

The club says the sessions will focus on technical, tactical and physical development, as well as players’ personal development. The U16 programme is described as fully funded until the end of the 2026/27 season.

U19 programme

A second programme is planned for up to 20 unsigned U19 players, with a particular focus on those released by professional clubs. The proposed schedule includes daytime training on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, alongside individual development planning, performance support and competitive games.

The club lists several possible progression routes for participants: a return to professional football, a place in Bradford (Park Avenue)’s first team, paid non-league football, or combining football with higher education at a UK university. It also intends to support players exploring football and education opportunities at US colleges. Alternative education, training and employment options are included among the pathways the programme will support.

Coaching and development

The programme is to be led by the club’s Academy Director, who will also act as head coach. The club says its approach will combine coaching with individual assessment, development planning and regular performance reviews. It also expects to incorporate performance analysis, video feedback and physical monitoring as those elements become available.

Bradford (Park Avenue) says it will measure the programme’s success not only by whether players secure professional contracts, but also by their development and readiness for their next step. The club is inviting interested players to register their interest in the U16 and U19 programmes.
