Bantams Achieve Top Ten Ranking in Fan Engagement Index
August 16, 2024Bradford City AFC has secured ninth place out of the 92 professional football clubs in England in the 2023/24 Think Fan Engagement Index.
The Think Fan Engagement Index evaluates clubs based on their interaction with fans, focusing on three key areas: dialogue, governance, and transparency. Bradford City was awarded a Bronze rating in the latest rankings, which reflects a four-place rise from the 13th position they held in the previous season, underlining the club’s continued commitment to enhancing fan engagement.
This year’s ranking is particularly significant for the Bantams as it equals their best-ever finish in the index, a position they first achieved in the 2021/22 season. The club’s overall score of 160 points is also its highest since the index was established. In the individual categories, Bradford City scored 80 points for dialogue, which was the joint-highest rating in this area, alongside 35 points for governance and 45 points for transparency.
Kevin Rye, the director of Think Fan Engagement, praised Bradford City’s consistent efforts in fostering strong relationships with their supporters:
“The thing that stands out with Bradford City is consistency. Since breaking into the top echelon of clubs, they have kept doing the things that got them there: engaging at every level with fans, and ensuring that has real impact in the way the club is run day to day.”
Rye also highlighted the club’s effective communication with fans and representatives:
“They engage well with match-going fans, representatives including the the Bradford City Supporters Trust. They provide a standalone supporter services website and effective two-way social media.”
