New coaching appointments and player returns aim to boost 2025 campaign

The Bradford Bulls wheelchair rugby league team has announced several key changes to their coaching staff and playing squad as they prepare for the 2025 season. These developments are part of the club’s ongoing efforts to enhance performance and work towards achieving Super League status in 2026.

Coaching Team Updates

Robert Hawkins, recognised for his achievements in the Wheelchair Super League, has joined the Bulls’ coaching team. Hawkins was awarded the Young Player of the Year and the Golden Boot in 2024, and he is also an England international player. His role will primarily focus on player development within the team.

In addition, Richard Wright, the team captain, has taken on a coaching role. His involvement adds further experience and support to the coaching structure, which is led by Head Coach Keiron Johnson.

Player Squad Additions

The playing squad has been strengthened with the return of Keiron Johnson to Bradford Fold. Johnson has recently competed in the Wheelchair Super League and will be rejoining alongside his father, Rhett Johnson, who has been a longstanding player for the Bulls.

Looking Ahead

  • The club aims to build on these changes to push for Super League status in 2026.
  • Home fixture dates for the upcoming season are expected to be announced soon.
  • Opportunities for sponsorship remain available to support the team’s ambitions.

These updates reflect the Bradford Bulls’ commitment to developing their wheelchair rugby league programme and enhancing their competitive prospects in the coming years.
