Summer Activities Engage Young People in Bradford
October 18, 2025Local charity Emerge reflects on recent school holiday programmes
As the summer holidays become a distant memory, Bradford-based charity Emerge has shared an overview of the activities and events it organised for young people in the BD4 area during the school break. The charity, which works with local youth throughout the year, highlighted a variety of opportunities aimed at skill development, social interaction, and outdoor experiences.
Range of summer activities
During the holidays, Emerge delivered a series of programmes including:
- Four days of sports, games, bushcraft skills, and crafts held in a local park
- A three-day residential trip to the seaside
- Xsport, a three-day sports camp attended by approximately 100 young people
- Indoor bouldering sessions
- A visit to an art gallery
- Regular catch-up meetings to check on young people’s wellbeing during the holidays
Volunteer involvement
Emerge noted that the success of these activities, particularly the Xsport camp, relied heavily on the support of volunteers. The charity expressed gratitude to those who dedicated their time and energy to assist with the programmes.
These initiatives form part of Emerge’s broader work supporting young people in Bradford, providing opportunities for learning, socialising, and physical activity outside of the school term.
