Bradford Teacher Raises Over £2000 For Dementia UK
April 29, 2024A History teacher at Bingley Grammar School has completed the London Marathon, raising thousands of pounds for Dementia UK in the process.
Mr Grimshaw, 32, dedicated the 26.2 miles in memory of his grandma who suffered from dementia in the final six years of her life, and in support of his aunt who was recently diagnosed with the disease. He completed the event in 3 hours, 53 minutes and 2 seconds.
He said: “This was a record breaking London Marathon with over 50,000 participants raising over £60 million for a range of charities. To be involved in this and raising money for Dementia UK was an absolute honour and a memory that I’ll cherish forever.”
“This was my eighteenth marathon in seven years since taking up running as a hobby, and the icing on the cake was setting a new personal best with my finishing time. It doesn’t get much better than that for me. Now it’s time to take a breather and get my fundraising over the finish line.”
