Cat Scott has worked as Marketing and Admin Assistant at Kala Sangam since April 2017, since then, she has become a key part of the team. We’re delighted for Cat as she sets off on her new adventure and wish her the best for the future. We’ll look forward to seeing her again when she returns to Bradford, as Cat is one of many local artists receiving artist support from us, under our ‘This is Bradford’ strand.

“I’ve had a great time working at Kala Sangam for 2.5 years and now I’m ready to focus on my career as an artist, for the first time.

I create kinetic, new media installations and experiences, that allow audiences to enter an intimate, cosmic space that we, as humans, cannot physically experience ourselves.

Can you help me to fulfil my dream and take my practice to the next level, by supporting me on my first international residency in South Korea?

I need help to raise funds to cover my living expenses, to enable me to complete my first international art and science residency at the Asia Culture Center, starting next week!

My place only got confirmed on the 22 July 2019, so since then, I’ve been spending most of my evenings and weekends looking for funding. Now I’m preparing to take my work to the international stage – so its all or nothing!

Your donations, big or small, will enable me to make my residency happen. If you pledge, you’ll be putting food in my belly so I can be fuelled up and ready to make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and help cover other essential costs. Any donation is incredibly valuable and will enable me to thrive (and survive!) at these crucial early stages of my career. Your support will also ensure that I have a financially sustainable start to my career, so that I can become an established artist during and after my residency, ready for when I return to the UK, at the end of 2019.

There are also some cool rewards (some funny ones too!) which you’ll get in return for pledging, so please do be generous. The rewards are all limited too, so once they’re gone – they’re gone!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for pledging, sharing or just taking the time to read through my project. It really does mean the world to me.

Now let’s see if I can reach my target before the 6 October – wish me luck.”
