Bradford Park Avenue have appointed Danny Murphy as their new Head of Girl’s Football.

The announcement, made through the club’s official Facebook page, comes just a few months after the club’s ladies team moved out of the Horsfall to join Wyke Wanderers.

In their statement, Avenue expressed their enthusiasm about the appointment, saying:

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Danny Murphy as our Head of Girl’s Football in a newly developed role at the club. Danny will be responsible for leading our drive to enhance girl’s football at BPA.”

Danny Murphy also shared thoughts on this new opportunity:

“First and foremost I’d like say what a huge honour it is to be a part of this amazing club and take the position as head of girls football. Thank you to Tom and the club for having the confidence in myself to offer me this role. This is a new and exciting venture where the sky really is the limit.”

Although the job title indicates Murphy’s role will be in the youth setup, the vision for the future is ambitious and indicates that Women’s football could return to the Horsfall.

“By taking the role, myself, and the club as a whole want to strive to bring the best for the girls and women’s side. From bringing in girls from all areas and walks of life and develop through our performance centre, to teams for all ages, scholars and eventually a first team to rival the best.”

Murphy further emphasised the community aspect of the club, stating:

“Our club is not merely a collection of individuals, it’s a community bound by a shared purpose and common goal. Together we have the power to drive change, inspire others and make a lasting impact and I can’t wait to get started.”
