BLINK Dance Theatre: ELVIS DIED OF BURGERS
April 20, 2023Thu 6 Jul | 7.30pm | Pay What You Decide
ELVIS DIED OF BURGERS is made and performed by the four BLINK directors who love food. If they’re not eating; they’re talking about it, dreaming about it, and now…dancing, rapping and rhyming about it.
Take a seat at their table as the cast spill the tea on their food stories. Watch as BLINK deep dive into the events of Elvis, The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, at the end of his life with their signature sensory and often bizarre tangents…Good Food Gospel anyone? Can they figure out the thin line between the humour and tragedy of overeating?
ELVIS DIED OF BURGERS has a non-linear narrative. It uses semi-improvised dance, theatre and spoken word to create an exciting ‘edge of your seat’ experience for audience and cast alike.
The show explores themes of food, overeating and death. The show includes swearing and scenes of a mildly sexual nature.
All performances of ELVIS DIED OF BURGERS will be relaxed. This is an opportunity for audiences to experience a piece of theatre designed with neurodivergent audiences at its heart, in which audience members are welcome to move around, make noise and come and go as needed.
The target age range is 25–40 years; however the show is suitable for any audiences over 16 years.
Thu 6 Jul | 7.30pm | Pay What You Decide
This event is Pay What You Decide, which means you don’t have to pay until after you have seen the event.
Pay What You Decide not only allows you to pay what you can afford, rather than a fixed ticket price, but also removes the financial risk of buying a ticket for an event in advance without knowing whether you are going to enjoy it or not.
Tickets are available to book in advance as usual, but there is no obligation for you to pay until after you have seen the event. You can then decide on a price which you think is suitable based on your experience, which means if you haven’t enjoyed it at all, you don’t have to pay anything.
Please ensure you have arrived and collected your tickets 15 minutes before the event starts in order to secure your seats. At the end of the show, you can decide what to pay, either by cash or card on the door.
