Celebrating resilience and achievement during National Apprenticeship Week

Bradford College held its annual STAR Awards ceremony to recognise the achievements of apprentices across various sectors. The event took place at the Cedar Court Hotel and coincided with National Apprenticeship Week 2026, bringing together apprentices, staff, employers, and families to celebrate the contributions of apprentices to the local workforce.

Key Awards and Recipients

The STAR Awards, which stand for Success, Tenacity, Ambition, and Resilience, acknowledged apprentices who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and progress in their training and workplaces.

  • CBRE Apprentice of the Year: Tegan Durkin was awarded the top prize. Despite facing a serious health diagnosis early in her apprenticeship, she maintained a positive and proactive attitude throughout her programme.
  • Adult Apprentice of the Year: Nida Hayat received this award for her high-quality work and professionalism, balancing her apprenticeship with caring responsibilities and volunteering.
  • Breaking Barriers Award: Joseph Worth was recognised for his determination in overcoming challenges during his apprenticeship journey.
