Bradford College Staff Recognised as National Community Champion

Clark Mitton, Digital Experience Design Lead at Bradford College, has been named one of 15 national community champions by Jisc, a UK organisation supporting digital infrastructure and services in education and research. The recognition highlights his work in promoting digital innovation and collaboration within the education sector.
Role and achievements
Clark Mitton was nominated for his efforts in organising the Innovate North community, which connects educators across the UK to share ideas and best practices. He also supports learners outside the college through Innokits, providing access to digital tools. His work focuses on making digital technology more accessible and engaging for both staff and students.
Monika Worthington, Digital Innovation Lead at Bradford College, praised Clark’s impact on the college community:

- Encouraged confidence and enthusiasm in using digital technology for teaching and learning

Context and wider recognition
The Jisc community champions programme celebrates individuals who contribute beyond their own institutions by fostering collaboration and sharing expertise across the education and research sectors. The selected champions will attend Jisc’s Digifest conference in March 2026 to network and share experiences.
Bradford College’s Digital Innovation team has received previous accolades, including the ‘College of the Year’ award at the Edufuturists national awards in 2025, recognising their use of digital technology to enhance education.

- Champions were chosen from 43 nominees
- Selection panel included former champions and Jisc representatives
- Panel chaired by Carolina Barnes and Natasha Veenendaal from Jisc
