D’Sena Leaves Avenue Less Than A Week After Agreeing To Stay

The move comes as a shock to fans, given D’Sena’s recent agreement to remain at Bradford, which was announced just six days ago. At the time, Avenue had expressed their delight in securing D’Sena for the upcoming season, citing his impressive performances since joining the club in February 2024. The club’s statement via Facebook highlighted how quickly the 21-year-old had become a fan favourite, thanks to a series of standout displays towards the end of the last campaign.
However, less than a week later, D’Sena’s has departed for Long Eaton United.
Long Eaton, who play in the Northern Premier League – Midlands Division, confirmed the signing of D’Sena in a press release on 9 August at 19:18, less than 24 hours before Bradford’s opening match of the season against North Ferriby. Despite D’Sena’s absence, Bradford managed to secure a 1-0 victory.
In the press release, Long Eaton’s first-team manager, Brad Munn, expressed his gratitude to both Chesterfield and Bradford (Park Avenue) for facilitating the transfer on such short notice. Munn revealed that D’Sena had been on the club’s radar for some time, having faced him a number of times on the field. The manager praised D’Sena’s aggressive style and comfort in possession, stating that he would be a valuable asset to Long Eaton moving forward.
The unexpected departure of D’Sena has left Bradford (Park Avenue) in the difficult position of finding a replacement now the season has started, and will have an impact on the team’s defensive line-up.
The circumstances surrounding D’Sena’s sudden exit remain unclear, and Bradford Park Avenue has yet to release an official statement regarding the situation.
