Funding Finder Service Relaunched for Bradford VCSE Sector
October 7, 2026New funding search tool available from October 2026
A funding search service designed to support voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Bradford is set to return from 1 October 2026. The Community Action Funding Finder, powered by the Idox Open 4 Community platform, will provide access to over 8,500 live funding opportunities.
The service is the result of a partnership between Community Action Bradford & District and City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. It will be available free of charge to VCSE organisations operating within the Bradford district for an initial period of three years.
Features of the Community Action Funding Finder
- Access to a database of more than 8,500 funding opportunities, updated daily
- Search functionality to find relevant funding streams
- Ability to create customised funding lists
- Automated alerts to notify users of new funding opportunities
- Expert verification of funding information by Idox
The service aims to assist VCSE organisations in identifying potential funding to support their activities and bring investment into local communities across the Bradford district.
Who can use the service?
The Funding Finder is available to a wide range of organisations within the Bradford district, including:
- Charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations
- Community Interest Companies
- Constituted and unconstituted groups
- Faith groups
- Sports clubs
Organisations based outside the Bradford district may also be eligible to use the service if at least half of their beneficiaries reside within the district. In such cases, organisations are advised to check with their local infrastructure body.
Registration and support
Community organisations must register for an account to access the Funding Finder. Multiple users from the same organisation, including volunteers, trustees, and paid staff, can register from 1 October 2026 without prior contact with Community Action.
To assist new users, Community Action will offer a free information event on 8 December 2026, providing guidance on how to use the database and an opportunity to ask questions. Additionally, ‘how to’ videos will be available on the Idox Help and Advice webpage.
Additional support and funding advice
Community Action Bradford & District offers free funding advice to volunteers, trustees, and staff of community organisations with an annual income up to £100,000. This service is delivered by the charity’s Development Officers and funded through income generated by Bradford Community Payroll and Accounts.
Other funding resources
The Community Action funding webpage will continue to signpost smaller or local funding opportunities, while the Idox database will serve as the primary source for national funding information.
Private businesses and individuals seeking funding are directed to alternative resources. Businesses can use the Invest in Bradford business funding search, and individuals in need can access the Turn2Us grants search. Community Action’s services are focused on supporting voluntary and community organisations rather than private enterprises or individuals.
Further information
Organisations interested in accessing the Community Action Funding Finder can register directly via the service’s website from 1 October 2026. For details about the information event or funding advice, contact Community Action Bradford & District.
