July 22 news – new entrance

July 12, 2022 Off By admin

Hey there,

What a beautiful day!!! I love the summer! James (pictured) below came into foodbank on Friday. I asked if there was anything else we could do to help in terms of benefits advice etc. He said ‘Actually you helped me last time I came, you registered me on a CSCS course (a construction certificate) as I was having trouble getting on one, and now I have a job starting in 6 weeks.’ This is so great as we want to help people deal with the root cause of food crisis as well as helping 1037 people with emergency food parcels in June.

The big news is that through so many people’s generosity we are renovating the Jubilee Centre. We’ve finished the Foodbank warehouse section and are about to start on the auditorium to create more of a café space for Foodbank and other services.

We are moving Foodbank downstairs in Jubilee Centre which is accessed from Stott Hill from tomorrow until September. Any Foodbank clients, volunteers and food donors will now use that entrance.

We fed 1037 people in June and we are really short of:

toilet rolls
Soup
Juice
Puddings
Cereals
Milk
Beans
Fish
Pulses
