New Six-Week Grant Funding Programme for Small Charities

A new six-week programme aimed at individuals working in small charities, community interest companies (CICs), and other not-for-profit organisations has been announced. The initiative is designed to help participants develop practical skills and confidence in securing grant funding.
Programme details and structure
The programme, delivered by Josie Armitage Associates, consists of six weekly sessions conducted via Zoom. Each session lasts 90 minutes and covers key topics related to grant funding, including:
- Preparing organisations to be funding-ready
- Developing stronger and more fundable projects
- Identifying appropriate funding sources and building a funding pipeline
- Writing effective funding applications
- Monitoring outcomes and demonstrating impact
- Creating a practical funding action plan
The sessions are designed as a “Done With You” programme, meaning participants will work on their own organisation’s projects and funding challenges throughout the course. This approach aims to provide practical skills and tools that can be applied beyond the programme.
Eligibility and participation
The programme is suitable for individuals who are new to grant funding, have some experience but lack confidence, or work for small organisations seeking to develop their internal funding capabilities.
The first pilot cohort is scheduled to run from Tuesday 13 October to Tuesday 17 November 2026. The group will be limited to 4-6 participants from different organisations to maintain a focused learning environment. At the time of announcement, one participant has been confirmed, with up to five places still available.

The pilot programme fee is £250 per person. Payment can be made upfront or in two instalments of £125.
