Students at Bradford College recently participated in a specialist cheesecake masterclass led by Mary Earle from Regal Foods. The session took place in the College’s newly upgraded training kitchens and formed part of an ongoing partnership between the college and the local food manufacturer.
Hands-On Industry Experience
The masterclass provided learners with the opportunity to work alongside professionals from Regal Foods, one of Bradford’s established food manufacturers. Students gained practical insight into commercial patisserie techniques, flavour development, and professional standards within the sector.
Investment in College Facilities
Regal Foods has contributed to upgrading the College’s catering facilities to better reflect real-world industry environments. Improvements include:
- New commercial induction hobs
- Professional baking tins and cookware
- A high-performance fridge
These enhancements aim to ensure students train using equipment comparable to that found in modern professional kitchens.
Strengthening Industry-Education Links

From September, Regal Foods will take on a regular role in delivering teaching and demonstrations as part of the College’s Patisserie and Confectionery programme. This development is intended to deepen the connection between industry skills and classroom learning.
