Summer Foodbank News
September 10, 2019I hope you had a nice summer! Unfortunately poverty doesn’t take a holiday so we were busier than ever. During the school holidays we fed 630 people – 248 of them children. We also ran a Healthy Holidays program where Angel (pictured above) came.
Her Mum, Evelyn, said “School holidays have been a nightmare – my landlord was taking money for our rent in cash but said he didn’t receive it, so it started to get deducted from our benefits. I’ve not been able to go shopping. I don’t eat and its got really really hard. Foodbank means we can put some food on the table.”
Your support means we can put food on the table for families who would have nowhere else to turn.
We are desperate for tinned fruit, fish, meat, UHT milk, small packets of tea and cereal. Donate food today!
We were recently on BBC Radio Leeds talking about Holiday Hunger – listen from 1hr 6 mins.
