Yorkshire Charity Opens Bookings for Christmas Tree Recycling Collections
December 16, 2025Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice has opened bookings for its Christmas tree recycling service, which will run across West Yorkshire and selected Greater Manchester postcodes in the new year.
The hospice said volunteers collected more than 2,500 real Christmas trees in the January of 2025, raising over £32,000 to support children with life-shortening conditions and their families.
For the next collection period, Forget Me Not has expanded the service to cover all West Yorkshire postcodes and OL postcodes, with collections planned between the 6th and the 18th of January 2026. The charity said the service will operate for a minimum donation of £12.
Georgia Lane, Forget Me Not’s fundraising manager, said
“Everyone has a lot to think about at Christmas so we’re urging people to get one job done nice and early this year and book their Christmas tree recycling service with us now. It’s not hard to be a Christmas uber-planner. All you have to do is place your order online and then you can relax, knowing it’s taken care of. And every penny raised will help us support local children and families.
Fundraising activities like this are so important for Forget Me Not. It costs us £6.5 million just to keep the doors open and we have to find 80% of that ourselves.”
Trees collected through the scheme will be recycled, with organisers saying they will be chipped for natural landscaping, some of which will be used at Ogden Water as part of natural barrier construction.
Bookings can be made online via www.forgetmenotchild.co.uk/christmas-tree-collections, with the charity asking customers to place orders before the 7th of January 2026.
