Funding helps maintain free weekly sessions in Bradford

A local company has donated £1,000 to support a walking football initiative aimed at people with Parkinson’s disease and other mobility issues in Bradford.

The Parkinson’s Walking Football project is run by the Bradford City FC Community Foundation, the official charity of Bradford City AFC. It offers weekly football coaching sessions tailored for individuals affected by Parkinson’s and similar conditions, with the aim of promoting physical activity and social engagement.

Project details and impact

The sessions began in April 2025 and take place every Friday from 11am to 12pm at BEAP Community Partnership, located at 31 Cornwall Road, Bradford BD8 7JN. They are free to attend and currently attract over a dozen regular participants.

The £1,000 donation from JB Springs CGR will help ensure that the sessions remain free and accessible for at least the next six months.

Comments from organisers and donors

  • Andrei Condoiu, Community Coach overseeing the project, said the donation would help the Foundation continue expanding the provision and positively impact participants’ lives.
