Local football tournament returns to Horsfall Community Stadium this May

AveyFest 2026 is set to take place from 23 to 25 May at Horsfall Community Stadium in Bradford, offering three days of grassroots football for youth teams across various age groups. The event aims to provide competitive matches aligned with the 2025/26 season age categories.

Tournament Schedule and Age Groups

The tournament will feature a range of matches for boys’ and girls’ teams, as well as academy and disability football. The schedule is as follows:

Friday 23 May (Afternoon): U13 Mixed 9v9, U14 Mixed 9v9, U11 Mixed 9v9
Saturday 24 May (Morning): Academy only – U7 (5v5), U8 (5v5), U9 (7v7), U10 (7v7)
Saturday 24 May (Afternoon): U12 Mixed 9v9, U10/11 Girls 6v6, U12/13 Girls 6v6, Disability 3v3
Sunday 25 May (Morning): U6 Mixed 3v3, U7 Mixed 5v5, U8 Mixed 5v5
Sunday 25 May (Afternoon): U9 Mixed 7v7, U10 Mixed 7v7

Availability of Places

Places remain available across multiple age groups and abilities, including both mixed and girls’ teams. The breakdown of remaining places is as follows:

U6 – 3 places
U7 – 10 places (all abilities)
U8 – 2 places (mid ability)
U9 – 7 places (all abilities)
U10 – 3 places (mid ability)
U11 – 5 places (all abilities)
U12 – 4 places (mixed ability)
U13 – 4 places (mixed ability)
U14 – 4 places (mixed ability)
U10/11 Girls – 5 places (mixed ability)
U12/13 Girls – 6 places (mixed ability)

Academy places are also available for younger age groups:

U7 – 5 places
U8 – 1 place
U9 – 3 places
U10 – 2 places

Event Facilities and Additional Information

The event will take place at Horsfall Community Stadium, located on Cemetery Road, Low Moor, Bradford, BD6 2NG. Facilities at the venue include on-site toilets, a licensed clubhouse bar, and options for refreshments and snacks throughout the weekend.

Trophies will be awarded to tournament winners, with medals presented to both winners and runners-up. The event is designed to provide a family-friendly atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.
