AveyFest 2026 Youth Football Tournament Scheduled for May

Annual grassroots football event returns to Horsfall Community Stadium

Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC will host AveyFest 2026, its annual grassroots football festival, over three days from Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th May 2026 at Horsfall Community Stadium. The event aims to bring together youth football teams from across the region for competitive matches and community engagement towards the end of the football season.

Tournament Dates and Age Groups

The festival will feature matches across multiple age groups, with sessions running in the morning and afternoon each day. The schedule is as follows:

• Saturday 23rd May
  • AM: Under-13 Mixed 9v9 (6 teams), Under-14 Mixed 9v9 (6 teams)
  • PM: Under-11 Mixed 9v9 (two groups of 6 teams each)
• Sunday 24th May
  • AM (Academy Only): Under-7 Mixed 5v5 (6 teams), Under-8 Mixed 5v5 (6 teams), Under-9 Mixed 5v5 (6 teams), Under-10 Mixed 7v7 (6 teams)
  • PM: Under-12 Mixed 9v9 (6 teams), Under-10/11 Girls 6v6 (6 teams), Under-12/13 Girls 6v6 (6 teams), Disability Team 5v5 (6 teams; contact organiser for details)
• Monday 25th May
  • AM: Under-6 Mixed Friendlies 3v3 (6 teams; all players receive medals), Under-7 Mixed 5v5 (two groups of 6 teams each), Under-8 Mixed 5v5 (two groups of 6 teams each)
  • PM: Under-9 Mixed 7v7 (two groups of 6 teams each), Under-10 Mixed 7v7 (two groups of 6 teams each)

Match Formats and Rules

• 3v3 matches: 3 substitutes allowed, 6-minute games
• 5v5 matches: 3 substitutes allowed, 10-minute games
• 6v6 matches: 4 substitutes allowed, 10-minute games
• 7v7 matches: 3 substitutes allowed, 10-minute games
• 9v9 matches: 5 substitutes allowed, 10-minute games

Entry Fees and Participation

• Entry fee is £40 per team for 3v3, 5v5, 6v6, and 7v7 formats
• Entry fee is £45 per team for 9v9 format
• Spectator admission is £2 for adults and £1 for under 18s
• Winners and runners-up will receive medals; trophies will be awarded to winners

Additional Information

• The event is open to grassroots teams only for the main tournament; signed academy players are not permitted in grassroots categories
• Sunday morning sessions are reserved for academy teams only
• Team entries are confirmed only upon receipt of full payment
• Entries operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with waiting lists once categories are full
