Bradford (Park Avenue) Secure Convincing 6-1 Win at Heaton Stannington

Strong performance extends unbeaten run to 14 matches

Bradford (Park Avenue) maintained their position at the top of the Northern Premier League East Division with a commanding 6-1 victory away at Heaton Stannington. The match, played at The Willow Park in wet and windy conditions, saw the Avenue extend their unbeaten start to the season to 14 matches.

Match summary

The visitors opened the scoring early, with Adam Haw netting his first goal of the season after just six minutes. The goal came from a Louie Chorlton corner, which was glanced on by Scott Duxbury, allowing Haw to tap in at the back post.

Haw doubled the lead in the 20th minute from the penalty spot after Marcus Carver was fouled in the penalty area. Haw confidently converted the spot-kick, sending Heaton Stannington goalkeeper Daniel Lister the wrong way.

Bradford continued to dominate the first half, creating further chances including a near miss from Duxbury. Heaton Stannington grew into the game towards the half-hour mark and came close to scoring, but Bradford’s goalkeeper Declan Lambton made a crucial reflex save to maintain the two-goal lead going into half-time.

Second-half dominance

Bradford started the second half strongly and nearly extended their lead through Carver, who missed a close-range opportunity. The third goal arrived in the 53rd minute following an indirect free-kick inside the penalty area, awarded after goalkeeper Lister picked up a back-pass. Haw completed his hat-trick with a powerful strike from the set-piece.

Haw added a fourth goal just two minutes later, his shot taking a deflection that wrong-footed the goalkeeper. He then scored his fifth in the 68th minute, finishing accurately from a cross by Chorlton.

Heaton Stannington managed to pull a goal back in the 81st minute through substitute Sado Djalo, who scored with a first-time effort after a cross from the left. However, Bradford quickly restored their five-goal advantage in the 88th minute when substitute Luke Parkin scored following a pass from Ben Andreucci.
