Bradford (Park Avenue) to host art and sports event for children

Bradford (Park Avenue) Sports Foundation is organising a workshop aimed at young people aged 8 to 16, with a focus on supporting neurodivergent children and those with autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The event, titled Brush Strokes of Belonging, will take place at Horsfall Community Stadium on Monday 27 October 2025 from 10am to 2pm.

Workshop details and objectives

The workshop combines creative arts and inclusive football activities to provide a supportive environment where participants can express themselves, build confidence, and engage with others. It is being delivered in partnership with artist Andy McVeigh, known as Burley Banksy, and SENDiVERSE Festival 2025.

Participants will have the opportunity to design and paint large football-themed banners that celebrate themes of community, belonging, and self-expression. These banners will be displayed around Horsfall Stadium, allowing the young artists to see their work showcased publicly.

Alongside the art sessions, Foundation coaches will lead inclusive football activities designed to promote teamwork, enjoyment, and physical wellbeing in a relaxed setting.

Follow-up event and community involvement

Those taking part in the workshop will be invited to a follow-up event on Saturday 15 November 2025. On this day, Bradford (Park Avenue) will host Consett with a 3pm kick-off. The young participants will attend the match as official mascots, and their artwork will be displayed around the ground to highlight inclusion and community spirit.
