David Logan Completes Level 1 Employability Skills Award

Local young person gains qualification through enrichment programme

David Logan has successfully achieved his Level 1 SEG Award in Employability Skills, having participated in an enrichment programme associated with Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC. Over the past year, David has engaged in various roles within and around the football stadium, developing practical skills and confidence.

Programme aims and participant experience

The enrichment programme is designed to support young people who may find traditional educational settings challenging. It offers opportunities to build skills through hands-on experience in different areas related to the football club’s operations.

Reflecting on his achievement, David said:

“I have enjoyed my time on the enrichment project, it has helped me to build my confidence and I am proud to have my certificate. It is a big accomplishment to do it, and my favourite part of the programme is the coaching and media work.”

Family and tutor perspectives

David’s mother, Donna, expressed her pride in his progress, noting the positive impact the programme has had on him:

“I am really proud of David, the enrichment programme has really helped him progress. It is doing him a world of good. He’s doing really well in all aspects and seems to be growing up a bit more.”

Tutor Tina Ratnik, representing E.D.G.E, the organisation working in partnership with Bradford (Park Avenue), commented on David’s commitment and development:

“We set the Enrichment Project up to help young people who may struggle to thrive in a traditional educational setting. The achievements of David show how this project can impact both the young person and their family. I have been working with David for over a year now and the development in his confidence is lovely to see. He has worked hard to complete this qualification and used lots of different skills in and around the stadium to build a varied portfolio of evidence. We are now looking to move onto a Level 2 qualification which is excellent progress.”
