About Us
We are the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, an organisation that protects, enhances and promotes the immense beauty, wildlife and character of the Yorkshire Dales. Set against expansive heather moorland tops, each valley has its own distinct charm, from crags and pavements to an underground labyrinth of caves.
We’re currently looking for a Youth Engagement Officer to join our Access and Engagement team on a full-time temporary basis at our Grassington office, near Skipton.

The Role
As our Youth Engagement Officer, you’ll be working with young people from the urban areas around the Yorkshire Dales National Park to get them connected with this beautiful area, the opportunities it has for them to improve their health and wellbeing and make a real contribution to looking after the natural world.
You will deliver pre-planned outdoor activity sessions to booked groups, and sessions will include environmental games, practical conservation and guided walks.
The job is funded for 6 months and is part of Generation Green, a national project connecting young people to nature. More information about this project can be found in the vacancy’s recruitment pack.
About You
To join us as a Youth Engagement Officer, you will need:
- Experience of working face to face with young people;
- An understanding of the benefits that connection to nature can have for young people and nature recovery; and
- The ability to enthuse and motivate young people.
