BD Skies Exhibition Opens at City Library
November 28, 2025Exploring Post-War Migrant Experiences Through Photography
An exhibition titled BD Skies will be held at Bradford City Library from 28 November to 13 December 2025. The exhibition runs daily from 9am to 4pm and is free to attend. It presents a collection of photographs that combine archival material and contemporary works, focusing on the experiences and contributions of post-war migrant families who helped rebuild Britain.
About the Exhibition
BD Skies features images drawn primarily from the archive of Don Wong-Chin, an international Jamaican-born portrait and social documentary photographer. The exhibition includes previously unseen photographs alongside works that were displayed at Tate Liverpool in 2023. These archival images are complemented by contemporary pieces from younger artists, many of whom also explore the migrant experience, particularly in the context of evolving and sometimes challenging public policies.
The exhibition is developed from extensive archival research and interviews conducted as part of the Migrant Eye Project. It is curated by Melangion, an organisation that focuses on arts and culture related to migration and identity.
