Local poets to perform at free event in December

Bradford City Library will host a reading by Beehive Poets Steve Pass and Kevin Byrne on the evening of Friday 5 December 2025. The event, which is free to attend, is scheduled to take place from 7pm to 9pm at the City Library in Centenary Square.

About the poets

  • Steve Pass is known for his work as a school workshop provider, teaching writing and creativity to primary school children across the UK. His sessions often draw on his book Madge the Mermaid, which tells the story of a mermaid made from recycled materials.
  • Kevin Byrne has had his poetry published in various anthologies including those by Beehive, London Spoken Word, Cote Poets in France, and Lemon Tree. He has won The Open University Slam and performed at events such as the Ilkley Festival and Edinburgh Fringe, where his work received a four-star review. Byrne has also featured on radio and online platforms in the UK, Ireland, and the United States. He has participated in several literature festivals and runs the Sylvia Plath Poetry Event at the Heptonstall Festival. His co-authored poetry collection Science Foetus Foetus Science was published in 2016.
