Music fans in the Bradford district have the opportunity to see two distinctive acts, Birdvox and Iona Fyfe, performing live at the Caroline Street Social Club in Saltaire on 6 September 2026. The event is scheduled to run from 7pm to 9.30pm.

About Birdvox

Birdvox is an electro-folk band known for blending traditional folk elements with indie, electronica, and pop influences. The group consists of four multi-instrumentalist artist-producers:

  • Sarah Hayes – vocals, flute, synths, programming
  • Charlotte Printer – vocals, bass
  • Jenny Sturgeon – vocals, guitar, synths, sampling
  • Inge Thomson – vocals, accordion, electronica, beats

The band performs songs in Scots, Shetland dialect, old Norn, and English, creating a unique sound characterised by velvet harmonies, thoughtful lyrics, and vibrant beats. Birdvox has received positive reviews in publications such as Songlines magazine and The Skinny, which praised their energetic and boundary-pushing performances. Their debut album is expected to be released in autumn 2026 on Hudson Records.

About Iona Fyfe

Iona Fyfe is a folksinger from Aberdeenshire, recognised for her deep roots in the North East of Scotland’s singing traditions. She has won several awards including Musician of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards in 2021 and Scots Singer of the Year twice. Fyfe has performed internationally across Europe, the US, Canada, and Australia.

In addition to her music career, Fyfe is an advocate for the Scots language and successfully campaigned for its recognition on Spotify. She performs both folk and pop songs in Scots and has been featured in various publications including The Sunday Post and The Financial Times.
