Bradford Theatres is set to captivate audiences with its Summer 2024 season, offering an eclectic mix of musicals, drama, comedy, and live entertainment.

The events will take place across Bradford Theatre’s host of venerable venues, including the Alhambra Theatre, St George’s Hall, The Studio, and King’s Hall in Ilkley.

Adam Renton, General Manager at Bradford Theatres, expressed enthusiasm for the lighter nights and the diverse range of shows on offer. “There’s something for everyone,” he said, highlighting the season’s blend of fresh, exciting shows, cherished classics, and the return of favourite tours.

The Alhambra Theatre, celebrating its 110th anniversary, will host two standout productions. The award-winning musical “Wicked” is set to bewitch audiences for five weeks in April and May, with the much-anticipated UK tour of Disney’s “Aladdin” in August.

The season boasts an array of performances catering to various tastes. From the comedic antics of Rosie Holt and Paul Smith to the mesmerising beats of the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers and classic from Talon – The Best of Eagles. Theatre-goers can also look forward to the Northern Ballet’s presentation of “The Tortoise & The Hare,” and “Awful Auntie,” an adaptation of David Walliams’ thrilling adventure.

Drama enthusiasts will be drawn to “2:22 A Ghost Story,” a supernatural thriller that has captivated West End audiences, featuring a stellar cast including Vera Chok, Jay McGuiness, George Rainsford, and Fiona Wade.

The programme is peppered with special events such as “An Audience with Sir Ian Botham” and musical tributes including “The James Bond Concert Spectacular” and “The Sound of Springsteen.” The season also introduces “Frankie Goes to Bollywood,” a vibrant new musical promising a journey into the heart of the Indian film industry.

Families and younger audience members can look forward to “Milkshake! Live on Holiday,” and the timeless musical “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” featuring Adam Garcia and Liam Fox in a brand-new production of the family favourite.
