Children aged 5 to 11 invited to join a unique trial experience

Bradford Police Museum is hosting an immersive courtroom event this October half-term, designed specifically for children aged 5 to 11. The event, titled The Trial: The Three Little Pigs v The Wolf, offers a chance for young visitors to participate as jurors in a retelling of the classic fairy tale within the museum’s original Victorian courtroom.

Event details

  • Date and time: 28 October 2026, 2pm to 3pm
  • Location: Bradford Police Museum, City Hall, Centenary Square, BD1 1SD
  • Duration: Approximately 30 minutes, with an hour recommended for the full visit including arrival and departure
  • Age range: Children aged 5 to 11
  • Ticket price: £8 per child (includes up to two accompanying adults)

About the experience

The event presents a courtroom drama where children act as the jury to decide the fate of the Big Bad Wolf, questioning whether he truly blew down the Three Little Pigs’ houses or if the story has been misunderstood. The performance is interactive but does not require children to speak or act; they simply listen to witness testimonies from characters such as the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, then cast their verdict.

The production is performed by The Museum Players and written by Ann Morgan. Adults accompanying children will be seated in the public gallery, close enough to observe the proceedings.

Accessibility and visitor information

  • The courtroom is located on the upper floor of the museum and accessed via steep Victorian steps.
  • There is no step-free or wheelchair access to the courtroom due to the building’s listed status.
  • The museum does not have toilet facilities on site.
  • Tickets include access to the interactive courtroom experience and the museum’s gallery, but guided tours of the Victorian police cells are not included and must be booked separately.
  • Visitors are advised to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the session start time for check-in.

This event offers an educational introduction to how a courtroom operates through storytelling and audience participation, providing a distinctive cultural and historical experience for families during the school holidays.
