Masterclass on ‘Show, Don’t Tell’ Writing Technique in Haworth

A writing masterclass focused on the widely advised technique of ‘show, don’t tell’ is scheduled to take place in Haworth this March. The event aims to help writers across different genres develop their ability to engage readers through immersive storytelling.

The course is designed for prose writers, scriptwriters, and poets alike. It will cover essential skills and techniques that help writers create vivid and engaging narratives by showing rather than telling the story.
About the Instructor
The session will be led by Michael Stewart, an award-winning and critically acclaimed author. Stewart has written nine books, including four novels, two poetry collections, and two short story collections. His accolades include the BBC Alfred Bradley Bursary Award, The Guardian’s Not-the-Booker Award, and the H.E. Bates Short Story Prize.
Michael Stewart has extensive experience in creative writing education, having served as head of Creative Writing at the University of Huddersfield for 18 years. He currently directs the Brontë Writing Centre, where the masterclass will be held.
