Experience a condensed version of Mozart’s classic opera at Theatre in the Mill

On 14 January 2026, Theatre in the Mill in Bradford will host a special performance of The Marriage of Figaro, presented by Opera North. This event offers a 45-minute introduction to the opera, featuring four professional singers and an accordionist guiding the audience through the story and music.

About the performance

The production is a whistle-stop tour of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s beloved comic opera. It follows the plot surrounding Figaro and Susanna as they prepare for their wedding, complicated by the intentions of their employer, Count Almaviva, who pursues Susanna. Additional characters include the lovesick pageboy Cherubino and Marcellina, to whom Figaro owes a debt that could force him into marriage if unpaid.

The performance will be sung in English, with the libretto adapted by Jeremy Sams and spoken word elements by John Savournin. The production is performed by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Limited.
