Transatlantic folk duo brings unique live show to Saltaire

The Live Room will host a performance by Sons of Town Hall, a folk duo consisting of American songwriter and author David Berkeley and British songwriter and producer Ben Parker. The event is scheduled for 11 June 2026, from 7:30pm to 10:00pm, at the Caroline Street Social Club in Saltaire, Shipley.

About Sons of Town Hall

Sons of Town Hall is known for blending live music with elements of performance art. The duo performs under the personas Josiah Chester Jones and George Ulysses Brown, characters who are 19th-century vagabonds travelling the world in a hand-built boat. Their show combines storytelling with original songs, creating what they describe as a new performance genre.

Their live performances serve as a companion to their radio-theatre podcast, Madmen Cross The Water. This podcast features immersive storytelling with a mix of music and narrative, exploring the adventures of their characters in greater detail. The podcast includes an original score and is hosted by a fictional superfan and band archivist.
