On Sunday 13 September 2026, the Victoria Hall in Saltaire will host a concert featuring the Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ, performed by one of Britain’s leading theatre organists, Robert Wolfe. The event is scheduled to begin at 2.30pm and run until approximately 4.45pm.
About the performer
Robert Wolfe’s association with the theatre organ began during a childhood holiday to Blackpool, where a visit to the Tower Ballroom inspired his passion. By the age of 12, he had successfully auditioned to join the Tower Ballroom’s team of organists, becoming the youngest musician to hold the post at that time.
Since then, Wolfe has gained international recognition for his skill and artistry on the theatre organ. He is the resident organist at the Thursford Collection in Norfolk, a venue known for its extensive collection of mechanical musical instruments. His performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 2 and national television, including a live appearance on The National Lottery programme.
The concert and venue
The concert at Victoria Hall will showcase the Saltaire Wurlitzer, an instrument with nearly 1,000 pipes and percussion effects housed in the organ chamber below the stage. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit this chamber during the event.
Victoria Hall is accessible with level access available from Lockwood Street via a lift, ensuring the venue is suitable for all visitors.
