Former Bradford City Player Returns for Community Foundation Football Event

Wayne Jacobs, a former Bradford City AFC player, is set to manage a team at the Bradford City FC Community Foundation’s upcoming Play as a Pro event. The event offers local football fans the opportunity to participate in an exhibition match on the University of Bradford pitch, replicating a professional football experience.

Event Details and Format

Jacobs, who played for Bradford City between 1994 and 2005 and was part of the squad that won promotion in the 1998-99 season, will lead one of the teams during the event. Another former Bradford City player will also manage a team, with their identity to be announced.

The Play as a Pro experience is designed for participants aged 18 and over. The match will last 60 minutes, divided into two halves with a 15-minute interval. Prior to the game, players will take part in a brief warm-up session.

The game will be 11-a-side, with each team allowed four substitutes. The organisers have emphasised that all players will have the opportunity to play significant minutes during the match.
